This web site is created to insure COMMUNICATION between professionals, churches' servants, clergy or any member of the community that was involved or participated in designing or constructing a Coptic Church in the Diaspora.
Many efforts have been done by a lot of groups of our community in order to light a candle in the dark, I mean creating a place for prayer. Unfortunately, the majority of these churches are renovations or remodeling of existing churches that were not designed as Coptic churches. Building new churches is not only about collecting the necessary fund. It takes people who have experience to calculate the areas and design the best for the community. It shouldn・t be haphazardness projects. We have design principals and specific requirements for our community that should be taken in account. By adapting any project new or existing to meet the community requirements, for spaces to pray and to practice its activities inside, we are protecting our style of architecture.
Building outside Egypt requires local licensed professionals who understand local building code, types of construction and procedures to be taken to get the projects built. That・s why it・s very helpful to learn from previous experiences and to get advice or comments from our community・s professionals or servants.
- If you were involved in the construction of a Coptic Church, we would like to include your experience in that web site in a form of picture, text or even a story.
